Tax Accountant – Commerce


After strong growth, our client is looking to add a tax specialist to their team. The role is earmarked for growth within the organisation and would be a great opportunity for a candidate making their first move out of a chartered firm. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing the FBT returns

  • Assist with the review of general ledger accounts for income tax purposes

  • Prepare BAS returns

  • Post monthly GST journals and reconcile GST clearing accounts

  • Where appropriate, identify opportunities to streamline or improve processes


The successful candidate will have:

  • Be CA/CPA qualified

  • Highly motivated individuals with friendly personalities

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards

  • Possess excellent communication skills and initiative

  • Strong management and negotiation skills

  • Have a proven background in Big 4 or Second Tier Charter form

  • Or in a similar role with a ASX listed or Multinational Organisation



Senior Accountant – Part Time - 25 hours per week


The role requires you to be responsible for:

  • Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for medium-to-large businesses including companies, trusts and partnerships

  • Preparation of complete and accurate work papers and checklists

  • Research of difficult technical tax issues and application to clients' circumstances

  • Liaising with the Tax Consulting division regarding more complex issues

  • Identification of business and tax issues - preparation of advice thereon including discussions with clients and preparation of advice letters

  • Completion of work in a timely and efficient manner - meeting write off and productivity budgets

  • Maintenance of Asset registers for small to medium sized businesses



Senior Accountant

You will work with an enviable client base who have a range of complex structures. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for medium to large businesses (including companies, trusts and partnerships).

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to work with a leading firm and will be an ideal career move for someone with:

  • 4+ years experience in an Australian accounting firm

  • Completed CA or CPA study

  • Excellent communication skills with a consultative approach to client needs

  • The ability to build and nurture relationships

  • Experience in managing a client portfolio and dealing with large corporate entities
